About Ben

Ben Binger

Ben Binger is the founder and CEO of Tamarack Group, a former FBI Special Agent, and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program. His work spans investing, organizational leadership, corporate governance, and the well-being of those who dedicate their careers to service.

Ben spent 20 years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his FBI career, he led complex white-collar crime and national security investigations and served in operational leadership roles involving SWAT and hostage rescue. Those experiences gave him a firsthand appreciation for both the extraordinary sense of purpose, identity, and camaraderie that can accompany a career in public service and the cumulative demands such careers can place on those who serve.

Following the FBI, Ben returned to the investment and business world, where he evaluates investment opportunities, helps guide strategic initiatives, and serves on the boards of several companies and nonprofit organizations. Earlier in his career, he worked in private equity and real estate development.

In 2026, Ben earned a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. His capstone research brought together his professional experience and the science of human flourishing to examine how first responders can better prepare for the transition from a lifetime of service into retirement. That work led to the development of the Second Mission Framework, an effort to help first responders carry forward the strengths developed through service while cultivating renewed identity, connection, meaning, purpose, and well-being in the next chapter of their lives.

Ben holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder, an MBA from Columbia University, and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
